Sinn Féin wish students well on Junior Cert results day
Sinn Féin Education Spokesperson Jonathan O’Brien TD has congratulated Junior Cert students from across the State who received their exam results today.
The Cork North Central TD commended all of the students who sat this year’s Junior Cert results and said he wished all of them the very best of luck and every success for the future.
Deputy O’Brien said:
“We wish all the students the very best for their results and commend them for the hard work and effort that they put in, and praise their teachers and parents for the support they’ve given them.
“Sitting the Junior Cert in an era where schools are plagued by austerity and cutbacks is not easy feat. Not to mention the further difficulties faced by many students who sat exams while living in direct provision or while acting as carers for parents with disability or illness.
“The Junior Cert is important but we would urge all students to keep an open mind if they had not done as well as they hoped to, as there are lots of options for future education and career paths these days.
“I hope that everyone is pleased with the results they received and would urge anyone out celebrating to stay safe and mind each other.”
