Window survey to be carried out on St.Michan's flats in Dublin Central- Cllr Janice Boylan
Following on from several community meetings between residents and local Sinn Féin Cllr Janice Boylan over the last number of months, it was announced on Tuesday at the Central Area Committee that a window survey would be starting on St.Michan's flats.
Boylan confirmed that after raising the issue with the area office and Hugh
McKenna in DCC that she was happy in the knowledge that this survey was going
"We need to do the survey and then get the repairs sorted ASAP.
“We have a situation in St.Michan's aka Greek Street flats where people have holes in their walls that you can actually look out.
“This problem has been reported over the years and the work is getting underway now because I liaised with the residents and had multiple meetings encouraging them to form a residents association.
“They set up a group from each of the blocks and we have had success with a number of issues that needed addressing.
“In saying that there are many other issues that still need to be addressed, such as a building for the local after school project.
“I will continue to
work with the residents and DCC officials trying to secure a permanent and much
needed home for the wonderful after schools project.”
