A vote for Fianna Fáil is a vote for Water Charges – Adams
Sinn Féin Leader Gerry Adams TD has said that Micheál Martin today provided people with a timely reminder that Fianna Fáil is a pro-Water Charges party.
Mr Martin told RTÉ radio this morning that Fianna Fáil agreed with domestic water charges as a "basic principle".
Gerry Adams said:
"Micheál Martin today provided people with a timely reminder that Fianna Fáil is a pro-Water Charges party.
"Domestic Water Charges was a Fianna Fáil idea in the first place and was provided for in the last Fianna Fáil-led Government's negotiations with the Troika.
"Fianna Fáil likes to give the impression that it is opposed to Water Charges and to Irish Water but this is a charade.
"It is clear from Micheál Martin's statement today that a vote for Fianna Fáil at the next election will also be a vote for the imposition of unjust and unfair domestic Water Charges.”
