Trade Union Bill another example of attack on workers - Maskey
Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey has said the British government's Trade Union Bill is an attack on workers.
Speaking ahead of attending the TUC congress in Brighton, the West Belfast MP said;
"This Bill would seriously undermine the fundamental rights of workers and trade unions if it is passed.
"It is yet another example of the Tory policy of attacking working-class communities and low-paid workers.
"It is encouraging to see widespread opposition to any steps to dilute and erode the rights of workers.
"This Bill will not apply in the North as a result of local decision making.
"It is clear that united opposition is required from all political parties, trade unions, churches and wider civic society to the Tory agenda of attacking the low paid and punishing the most vulnerable in our society.
"It is important that civic society stands together to oppose any attempt by the Tories to introduce anti-worker legislation to the North."
