Sinn Féin Cllr Cathleen Carney Boud has welcomed the opening of food bank in Glasnevin but has claimed that "Minister Burton's actions stink of hypocrisy".

Cllr Carney Boud said:

"Joan Burton is patting herself and her colleagues on the back for the supposed economic growth - but at the same time launches the opening of another food bank"

"The very fact that we need more food banks highlights the levels of poverty that the people are really experiencing.

“Having cut the lone-parents benefit, she has caused further hardship on some of the most vulnerable families in society, while her government expects them to pay water charges, no matter how impoverished they are."
