Ní Riada congratulates naval cadets on graduation
Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ní Riada has offered her congratulations to the 53rd Naval Cadet class on their graduation at Haulbowline earlier today.
Ni Riada, who attended the ceremony, said;
"I want to extend warm congratulations to Cormac O'Sullivan, Patrick McGovern and Peter McLoughlin on their graduation from the officer training college this morning.
"It marks the first step in their qualification as Naval Watch-Keeping Officers. They will now assume duties, within the service, both at sea and on the shore.
"I was delighted to attend the ceremony on what must be a very proud day for the cadets and their families.
"During the ceremony I reflected on the commendable work carried out by the naval service in the rescuing of 7,000 refugees in the Mediterranean. Their dedication and commitment is a credit to their families and the country. It is right that they have received due recognition.
"I want to wish the graduating cadets all the very best for the future."
