Serious disruption following Poleglass security alert - Clr Magennis

22 September, 2015 - by Stephen Magennis

Sinn Féin Councillor for the Collin area, Stephen Magennis, has slammed those responsible for leaving a device at the Colin Road in Poleglass which has caused significant disruption to the local community.

Speaking earlier Cllr Magennis said:

“This is a built up area with many people using a pathway nearby as a short cut which leads up to a school.

“So far the Footprints Women’s centre and its crèche, along with five family homes have had to be evacuated.

“Fortunately we have been able to get the Sally Gardens community centre open should anyone need it.

“This disruption is unacceptable and those who are responsible for this device need to explain to this community what it will achieve.

“If this is a viable device those behind it have put this community in danger.”
