Call to check security on NAMA properties- Cllr Chris Curran
Sinn Féin councillor for Glencullen Sandyford, Chris Curran is calling on NAMA to review its security in its property portfolio following an extensive fire that caused havoc in the Carrickmines area on Sunday.
The fire took place in a large NAMA owned underground car park in Carrickmines Green and caused local power outages while the fire was being tackled. The smell from the thick black smoke polluted the whole area and was visible for miles around.
"It's unknown exactly what was in the car park and the cause of the fire is as yet unknown. I contacted the fire officer and as yet I have not received a report" said Curran
“My fear is that these half-finished properties could become a source of anti-social behaviour. The loss to the taxpayer and the potential danger to lives from such incidents are a concern to residents and NAMA needs to review its security immediately.”
