McGahan welcomes announcement of Loughgall inquests
Sinn Féin MLA Bronywn McGahan has welcomed the announcement of new inquests into the killings of eight IRA volunteers and a civilian at Loughgall in 1987.
Ms McGahan said;
"I welcome today's announcement of new inquests into the deaths of the eight IRA volunteers and a civilian who were killed by the British army at Loughgall in 1987.
"This is the latest development in the long campaign by the families of those killed to establish the truth of what happened.
"The families have a right to know how their loved ones died and if their deaths could have been prevented.
"I pay tribute to the families of those killed for the manner in which they have conducted this long campaign despite British government efforts to frustrate them."
