Public want health minister back at work - McMullan
Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan has said the public expects the health minister to be at his post working to improve services for cancer patients and others.
Mr McMullan said;
"There are clear concerns over the pressures on the health service and the public are looking for answers.
"I tabled a number of questions to the health minister asking for patients waiting on results of tests for prostate cancer and the number of patients waiting for results of biopsy tests.
"I also asked about the number of ambulances available in the Glens of Antrim area.
"I was then told the questions would not be answered because the health minister is not in position.
"These are important issues, particular for cancer patients, and it’s unacceptable these questions will go unanswered because the minister has abandoned his responsibilities.
"The public want a minister in post, working to improve the health service, not playing party politics with people's lives."
