Fearon to welcome MEPs to south Armagh
Sinn Féin MLA Megan Fearon has welcomed a group of more than 100 MEPs and support staff to South Armagh as part of a European Parliament study visit.
Ms Fearon said;
"A large group of MEPs and their support staff will visit South Armagh this week as part of a GUE/NGL study visit to Carrickmacross in Monaghan.
"This visit, hosted by the four Sinn Féin MEPs, will involve four days of debate, discussions and workshops on major European issues including unemployment, opposition to austerity, and the potential impact of a British withdrawal from Europe, among others.
"During the course of their visit, the MEPs and their support staff will travel to South Armagh on a fact-finding mission.
"They will take a tour of the area and learn about the history of south Armagh.
"They will also have the opportunity to experience our culture through our music and by availing of our hospitality.
"I look forward to welcoming the MEPs from the GUE/NGL group to South Armagh."
