People coming to live in Ireland should be supported - McCann
Sinn Féin MLA and Junior Minister Jennifer McCann has said it is vital those coming to live in Ireland have access to support and services.
Speaking ahead of attending a screening of a film, 'Voices of the New Belfast,' at Stormont, Ms McCann said;
“The experiences recounted in this film are a timely reminder of the importance of ensuring those coming to live in Ireland, and particularly this city, must be given the support and access to services needed to feel welcome in our society.
"We need to have a collective approach to dealing with the challenges facing people coming on to, and already residing in, the north of Ireland.
"Given the on-going refugee crisis and the heartbreaking images we have seen coming from the Mediterranean and across Europe, this is important now more than ever.”
