Andrews receives response from Dublin City Council regarding Longboat Quay
Sinn Féin councillor for the Pembroke-South Dock area Chris Andrews has this morning received a response to representations made to Dublin City Council Chief Executive Owen Keegan regarding the Longboat Quay complex.
Cllr. Andrews said "The Chief Executive has this morning told me that there is no immediate risk of residents of Longboat Quay being made homeless and residents are about to be informed of this."
"This is obviously a welcome development for concerned residents in the very short-term but the fire safety issues that persist and issues pertaining to the funding required to rectify the problems must be addressed without delay."
"Having spoken to residents it is entirely unrealistic that they should be expected to bear the financial brunt of rectifying the complex having already borne the brunt of living in unsafe conditions and the stress and uncertainty caused by the entire affair".
