Company urged to meet union and resolve dispute at An Post – Cullinane
Sinn Féin Senator and Workers Rights Spokesperson David Cullinane has called on the company at the centre of a dispute, which has led An Post to cancel postal services, to engage with unions and resolve the issue.
Senator Cullinane said:
“This dispute needs to be resolved as a matter of urgency.
“I would appeal to IO Systems to meet with the Communication Workers Union and work out a solution.
“Disruption to the national postal network damages public confidence in the postal service and may have an adverse effect on business.
“Industrial unrest is bad for the workers concerned, bad for An Post and creates a negative image of IO Systems.
“A resolution must be found to the row over rostering arrangements and the subsequent loss of earnings for workers at IO Systems.”
