Cameron in denial about the impact of Tory cuts – Murphy
Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said the policies of David Cameron’s Tory government remain the biggest obstacle to political stability and progress in the North.
Conor Murphy said:
“The British prime minister seems to be in denial about the damage being done to the political process in the North by his Tory cuts agenda.
“Tory austerity has taken hundreds of millions out of the Executive’s block grant damaging public services and pushing thousands of children into poverty.
“David Cameron’s government is a player in this process, not some sort of independent broker.
"The Executive needs a workable and sustainable budget to deliver public services and grow the economy and we need to see and end to the Tory assault on public services and social protections.”
