Hazzard calls for inclusion of siblings in Vicitims Support Services
Sinn Féin MLA Chris Hazzard has called on the Victims Support Service to scrap a controversial policy of excluding siblings from vital bereavement services.
Speaking at today's OFMDFM Committee meeting, the Sinn Féin spokesperson on victims said;
"I was appalled the VSS would actively exclude hundreds of vulnerable people from life-changing support.
"Most people will be shocked to learn that siblings of those killed as a result of the conflict are not considered eligible for a wide range of bereavement services. This awful policy has to be overturned.
"We need to meet the needs of all those in society who require help and this certainly includes those people who lost brothers and sisters as a result of the conflict.
"It is important that no one is left behind."
