Death of homeless man a ‘tragedy’ - Cllr. Daithí Doolan
Responding to reports that a homeless man has been found dead on Dublin's Westmoreland Street, Sinn Féin's Cllr. Daithí Doolan, has expressed, 'deep sympathy to the man's friends and family’.
Speaking today, Cllr. Doolan, chair of Dublin City Council's housing committee, said:
“This death is a human tragedy that demands political solutions. Each homeless person who dies on our streets underpins the need for immediate action. We must all redouble our efforts to ensure this never happens again.
“Minister Kelly, city council and homeless agencies must work together to provide solutions to the growing crisis in housing. This tragedy proves that the blame game clearly costs lives. That is unacceptable and must immediately stop.
“We must see immediate action on department of environment funding for homeless services and building of social housing.”
