Cllr. Daithí Doolan calls for review of fire safety in City Council sites
Sinn Féin Councillor Daithí Doolan has called on Dublin City Council to review fire prevention standards in all of its Traveller accommodation sites.
Speaking this morning, Cllr. Doolan, chair of Dublin City Council housing committee, said:
'We were all moved by the tragedy in Glenamuck, Carrickmines. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives.
'I have written to the Chief Executive asking that Dublin City Council commence a detailed review of fire prevention standards on Dublin City Council Traveller accommodation sites and that, if required, the council will carry out any recommended works as a matter of urgency.
'We must work together to ensure that fire prevention standards and the application of standards are a priority for Dublin City Council.'
