NAMA revelations raise serious questions - Ó Muilleoir
Sinn Féin MLA Máirtín Ó Muilleoir has said revelations in the last 24 hours over the events leading to the NAMA sale raise serious questions for those involved.
Mr Ó Muilleoir said;
"At the heart of both the failed Pimco bid and the successful Cerberus acquisition of the northern portfolio there are serious question to be answered by key players.
"These questions centre on enormous amounts of money, millions of pounds, around which no answers have yet been provided.
"The key issue is what were the so-called fixers being paid for. Were these fixers purporting to sell either political access or commercially sensitive information?
"These questions are about the integrity of the deal and in my opinion this deal had poison at its heart.
"In trying to find answers to these questions I welcome the commitment from Peter Robinson that former finance ministers Sammy Wilson and Simon Hamilton are now prepared to come before the committee.
"Others who have so far refused to provide explanations for their role need also to come to the committee and provide answers on the events surrounding the sale of the NAMA portfolio.
"Today we also have learned of further meetings involving the First Minister in relation to the sale of the NAMA portfolio at which the deputy First Minister was not present or represented. It is absurd to claim in this context that he was kept fully informed".
