Speaking at the Palestinian Youth Conference in Copenhagen, Ms Fearon said;
"Ireland's relationship with the Palestinian people goes back many decades. We have shared similar experiences of the injustices of colonialism and we should always continue to help each other in advancing our struggles. "Last year we came out in our thousands to protest the slaughter and devastation in the Gaza strip. The Irish people sent out a clear message of solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters from the streets of Derry to Cork. "The international community have a key role to play in supporting the Palestinian people and challenging Israeli aggression. "The Irish and British governments should end their tacit support for Israeli terror and the European Union has a responsibility to support the Palestinian people. "Across the world, communities are standing in solidarity with the people of Palestine. "The young people of Palestine can lead way in building alliances with groups across Europe."Young Palestinians are the future. They can design a clear roadmap to take the Palestinian struggle forward and will continue to have our support in doing so."
