Nesbitt needs to end charades and stunts - Murphy

24 October, 2015 - by Conor Murphy

Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said Mike Nesbitt should end the charades and stunts and show genuine leadership to achieve a resolution in the current negotiations.

Mr Murphy said;

"It is becoming increasingly clear that the Ulster Unionist Party is lacking responsible leadership under Mike Nesbitt.

"Far from taking a principled and unambiguous stand, Mike Nesbitt is the very definition of ambiguity, having walked his party out of government and straight into talks with Sinn Fein.

"In short, it looks like he's making it up as he goes along.

"He may be trying to play the role of some sort of avenger but in reality he has left a considerable section of the unionist electorate without a voice.

"All he has succeeded in doing is taking his party out of government for the first time in almost 100 years.

"He needs to end the charades and stunts and show some genuine leadership by working constructively with all other parties to achieve a resolution in the current negotiations."
