Stealing of Post Office van an attack on entire community
Sinn Féin MLA for West Belfast Fra McCann has described those who carried out the theft of the post office van at Ross Road as thugs who have nothing to offer this community.
Mr McCann said,
“The theft of a post office van containing mail for local residents is an attack on the entire community.
“The fact the thieves used a knife to threaten the driver shows the depths these people will go in an attempt to make money.
“The mail they took could contain appointments for hospitals, job offers, financial transactions, birthday or other greeting cards and many personal pieces of information in the letters which have been stolen.
“I would urge anyone who has information on this attack and robbery to pass it onto the PSNI so these people can be stopped attacking our community.
“We need to ensure that essential services like the Post Office and others can carry out their work in this community free from intimidation.”
