Right2Change principles offer ‘a new vision and a realistic alternative’ – Adams
Speaking from Leinster House today, Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams Td has criticised An Taoiseach Enda Kenny for his “misleading and self-serving claims” made in Madrid at a conference of the EPP.
The Louth TD reiterated his calls for all progressive parties and independents to band together to offer the electorate a new vision and a realistic alternative to the politics of the past.
Deputy Adams said:
“The behaviour of Enda Kenny in Madrid demonstrates the pressing need for progressive parties and independents to come together on a single platform before the next election.
“The Taoiseach’s misleading and self-serving claims have only served to muddy the waters of a critical period in the economic recovery and have diminished the standing of the office he holds.
“The Right2Change principles outline a new vision, a different choice, a realistic alternative to the electorate.
“For too long, citizens have suffered at the hands of the stale and ruinous politics of Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, and Labour.
“The better off in society have been placed ahead of the low and middle income families that are the bedrock of society and the economy.
“For nearly as long as I have been Uachtaráin of Sinn Féin, I have called for alliances and for broad coalitions of progressive forces to agree upon joint principles and aims.”
