Adams renews appeal for information on remains of Columba McVeigh

30 October, 2015 - by Gerry Adams

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD commenting on the anniversary of the killing and secret burial of Columba McVeigh said:

“As the anniversary of the abduction of Columba McVeigh approaches, I want to appeal again for anyone with information whatsoever to bring it forward to the appropriate authorities.

“In June, the remains were recovered in County Meath of Seamus Wright and Kevin McKee. 12 bodies have now been recovered and the sites of two of the four remaining victims, including Columba McVeigh, have been identified.

“However, the Commission’s forensic team need additional information to help pinpoint the remains.

“I want to thank everyone who has helped thus far in the search for the remains of those killed and secretly buried by the IRA. Republicans have cooperated fully with the Commission, and we now need to continue to do our utmost to bring closure for the remaining families.

“I therefore want to appeal again for anyone with any information on those remains still not found to bring that information forward to the families, to the Commission or myself.”
