Donegal Sinn Féin will hold a convention tomorrow to select at third candidate to run for the party in the upcoming general election.
The convention takes place at 3pm tomorrow in the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey.

Speaking ahead of the convention Councillor Doherty said;
“This Sunday will see a huge mobilisation of people descend on Ballybofey to attend the party Convention in what is shaping up to be a truly momentous event for not just the party but for Donegal as a whole.”
“As everyone will know by now, my decision to seek election as Sinn Féin’s third candidate here in this constituency was a huge one for me personally however, the support which I have received since my announcement last month has been phenomenal and I am truly honoured to have the chance to put my name forward for selection at this Sunday’s Convention.”
"I would like to thank everyone for all their support thus far and I also want to extend an invite to everyone to come and join us on Sunday afternoon for this great occasion.”
“I have no doubt that the event will live up to all expectations and that we will see a huge gathering on the day as we ambitiously aim to secure three seats here in the constituency and have three Sinn Féin candidates proudly and passionately represent the people of Donegal.”
