Anger at North Belfast death
Sinn Féin North Belfast MLA Kathy Stanton has said that the discovery of the body of a woman in the Waterworks area of North Belfast has made many in the community angry and called for greater resources to tackle the problem of domestic violence.
Ms Stanton said:
"It appears that this woman's death was the result of domestic violence. I want to extend my sympathy to the family and offer the support of a community that is both shocked and angry.
"It is vitally important that it is made easier for women suffering from domestic violence to access help. We need to see more resources for Women's Aid and other women's groups and we also need to ensure that there is more safe accommodation available." ENDS
