Government must follow up on Global Forum if it is to realise potential - Adams
Speaking as he attended the Global Irish Economic Forum, Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams TD said;
“The Global Irish Economic Forum is a worthwhile initiative.
“There is huge potential within the Irish diaspora and a great desire by the Irish throughout the world to support, help and do whatever they can for their historic homeland.
“Unfortunately the potential of the forum to tap into this wellspring of international goodwill has not been properly utilised by the Irish Government.
“Since its initiation there has been a severe lack of follow through by the government and this, understandably, has created scepticism among sections of the diaspora.
“It is therefore of crucial importance that this time the government follows up on this gathering in a programmatic and strategic way.”
