Adams commends Gardaí on Louth arms find
Sinn Féin Leader and Louth TD Gerry Adams has described the discovery of arms and explosive material in Louth as disturbing and stated that there is no space for armed actions in Irish society today.
He called on the groups responsible for armed actions to desist from their activities and to disband.
Gerry Adams said:
“The discovery of arms and explosives in Louth is a disturbing development.
“I welcome fact that the Gardaí have taken these weapons out of circulation and wish to commend them on this.
“There is absolutely no place today for armed actions in Irish society, which are contributing nothing to the cause of Irish unity.
“Those behind such activity have no public support. I would call again on these groups to desist from their activities and to disband.”
