Irish Government must call for immediate and unconditional release of Ibrahim Halawa after 11th trial postponement
Dublin Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan has expressed her disappointment at the latest postponement of Ibrahim Halawa’s trial in Egypt.
Ms Boylan said the Irish Government must call for Ibrahim’s immediate and unconditional release.
Speaking this afternoon she said;
“It is quite clear that Ibrahim is not going to get a fair trial. This is the eleventh postponement of his trial.
“This latest adjournment, till 9th of January, is a major disappointment for Ibrahim and his family who are desperately worried about him.
“The Irish Government should call for Ibrahim’s immediate and unconditional release which is what 91% of the European Parliament did this week.”
