Keep post offices open for Santa Claus - Colreavy

24 December, 2015 - by Michael Colreavy TD

Deputy Michael Colreavy, Sinn Féin's spokesperson on Communications, Energy and Natural Resources has said that the post office network is essential for getting children's letters to Santa Claus.

Speaking on the issue, Deputy Colreavy said:

“The Christmas period is a very busy time for post offices throughout the country.

“They have a very important job delivering letters to the North Pole in time for Christmas Eve so that Santa Claus knows the wishes of Irish children.

“The job of Santa Claus would be a lot more difficult without the post office network helping him with his job.

“This Christmas I am asking the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to work with other members of government to ensure the survival of the post office network.

“Post offices are a valuable asset to communities throughout the country all throughout the year, not just at Christmas.

“It is essential that the post office network is protected.”
