Insulation works must be completed in Dublin North Central – Councillor Denise Mitchell
Dublin North central councillor Denise Mitchell and General election candidate for Dublin Bay North is calling on the Minister for Environment Alan Kelly to release the funding to complete insulation works in Dublin North Central.
Speaking from Coolock today Councillor Mitchell said,
“There are 3,608 Dublin City Council dwellings in the Dublin North Central area and while much work has been done in completing phase one of insulation works which is wall cavity insulation, there is still 1,445 homes that have not been insulated.
The council has advised me that the Department of Environment have not given any commitments to finish off the works.”
She further added,
“Where insulation has taken place it has made a huge difference to lives of families. Some of the council houses in Dublin North central are very old and it takes a lot of resources to heat them to any sort of liveable standard.
This is of course more noticeable in the winter months and especially for Senior citizens and young children.
I am calling on Alan Kelly to release the funding immediately to finish off this programme so families are not left freezing in their homes this winter”
