Sinn Féin’s Noeleen Moran to host seminar on EU Funding

6 January, 2016 - by Noeleen Moran

Sinn Féin general election candidate Noeleen Moran will host a seminar on EU funding for the community and voluntary sector, which will be delivered by MEP Liadh Ní Riada. The seminar will take place in Kilrush Community Centre at 2pm on Friday 15th January.

Noeleen Moran said;

“Community and voluntary organisations in Clare enrich our society and do so much to facilitate the vibrant, active and welcoming communities of which we are all so proud. Despite economic hardship and deep cuts to community and social spending, this sector has managed to continue to work on behalf of their people.

“As anyone involved in a community project will know, European funding is often discussed at committee meetings, however time and time again a lack of information, an intimidating bureaucracy or a complicated application process mean organisations are often slow to capitalise on this resource.

“I am delighted to host Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ní Riada in Clare for this important seminar, and I would encourage anyone with an involvement in this sector to come along. Liadh has put together an introductory guide to EU funding, which she will launch at the seminar, as well as giving suggestions for ways you can access this potential source of funding.”

The seminar is free and open to all who would like to learn more about EU funding. Copies of Liadh Ní Riada's 'Guide to EU Funding' can be ordered online at
