Matt Carthy appointed as Sinn Féin Director of Elections – Adams
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD has this morning announced that MEP for the Midlands/North West constituency Matt Carthy will be the party’s Director of Elections for the upcoming General Election.
Teachta Adams said:
“I’m very pleased to announce that the Sinn Féin Ard
Chomhairle has selected Matt Carthy to serve as the party’s Director of
Elections for the upcoming General Election. Matt will play a key role in
building and co-ordinating the Sinn Féin campaign over the coming weeks.
“Matt has a wealth of experience as a public representative having served as a local Councillor for fifteen years and as a member of the European Parliament since July 2014. He also currently heads up Sinn Féin’s United Ireland Taskforce.
“We are looking forward confidently to the coming weeks as we seek a mandate to lead a Progressive Government and build a Fair Recovery.
“Fine Gael and Labour have caused chaos in the lives of citizens and families. It’s time for them to go.
“Despite the pronouncements of their leader, Fianna Fáil would be no different. They’ve proved that during their previous terms in office.
“Sinn Féin is the only party capable of leading a Government to transform the political, social and economic life of citizens. Only a Sinn Féin led Government will scrap water charges and the family home tax, and build a fair, progressive taxation system. Only a Sinn Féin Government will deliver the level of investment required to build world class public services.”
