McKay welcomes funding for St. Louise canteen
Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has expressed his delight at the news that £1million has been secured to upgrade the canteen at St Louis in Ballymena. Mr McKay has been lobbying for a number of years for this work to be carried out and invited the Education Minister to the school to see the clear need there was to carry out capital works at the school.
Daithí McKay said:
“I am absolutely delighted that our work to secure capital improvements to St Louis' in Ballymena has paid off. Over the last number of years I have done a number of meetings with Education officials and brought the Education Minister out to see the terrible state of the canteen in the school.
“He has now announced that £1million has been allocated for this work which will begin in July of this year. This is fantastic news and is the latest in a number of capital investments announced for the Ballymena area by the Sinn Féin Education Minister.
“This will be very much welcomed by staff, parents and especially pupils at the school and I look forward to construction commencing on-site in the coming months.”
