Noeleen Moran will make an excellent TD for the people of Clare – Liadh Ní Riada MEP
Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ní Riada strongly endorsed the party's general election candidate for Clare at an event in the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis. Speaking following the launch of Noeleen Moran's election campaign on Thursday Liadh Ní Riada said:
“Noeleen Moran is a committed republican, a capable operator, and hardworking public representative. She will make an excellent TD for the people of Clare.
“The last ten years have been hard. Fianna Fáil brought us to the brink of economic collapse. The party of De Valera became the party of bankers, speculators, the nod, the wink and the brown envelope. Fine Gael and Labour wasted hundred of millions on Irish Water and preside over absolute chaos in housing and healthcare. The last five years are littered with their broken promises.
“The people of Clare deserve fair and effective representation in the Dáil. Noeleen will provide that representation, and across Ireland Sinn Féin stands ready to continue to stand up and provide a voice for the people. Sinn Féin is going into this election with comprehensive and costed policies on healthcare and housing, which aim to clean up the mess created by Fianna Fáil, and made worse by Labour and Fine Gael.
“No one should be on the street, or raising a family in a hotel room, for the want of a house. The housing and homelessness crisis in this country is getting worse, and Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Labour are to blame. The solution to the crisis is to increase supply and Sinn Féin in government will spend an additional €300 million on social housing.
“We believe that nobody should be forced to go without healthcare, and no one should have to wait long periods for treatment, while their condition gets worse. Sinn Féin will create 1,000 new posts for nurses, midwives and consultants. We will make working in our health service a safe and attractive proposition, and end the brain drain of our nurses and doctors.
“It's time for real political change, and Noeleen Moran is the candidate to lead that change for County Clare.”
