McCorley welcomes progress on Irish Language Academy plans
Sinn Féin Irish Language spokesperson, Rosie McCorley has welcomed Culture Minister Carál Ní Chuilín’s outline plans for the development of an Irish Language Academy and an Ulster-Scots Academy.
Ms McCorley said:
“The Minister’s outline plan for the creation of an Irish Language Academy is another step forward in the development and support of the language.
“The Irish Language is experiencing unprecedented growth and popularity and when these plans come to fruition they will provide the facilities and tools required to properly support this growth.
“The growth of the Irish Language has had a positive economic and social impact in local communities.
“I look forward to the minister delivering her final proposals, which will help increase employment and investment opportunities for language enthusiasts.”
