Cllr Devine calls on Greyhound to clarify collection policy

5 February, 2016 - by Máire Devine

Sinn Féin councillor Máire Devine and general election candidate for Dublin South Central has called on Greyhound to clarify its recycling collection policy.

Speaking from the South Circular Road, Cllr Devine said:

“Residents are not getting their recycling collected along the South Circular Road.

Greyhound is now requiring them to register and pay for their green bin.

Residents have, until now, been using clear bags and they have been collected no problem”

Cllr Devine continued:

“Greyhound has allegedly been unhelpful in its responses.

“Residents are growing increasingly frustrated.

“Sinn Féin already flagged that the new government policy of charging families for recycling waste would be a mistake.

“This additional charge is another tax on working families and it will also increase the rate of illegal dumping.

“I am calling on Greyhound to engage with residents in the area and clarify its own collection policy”.
