Government treatment of Moore Street National Monument ‘disgraceful’ - Adams
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD commenting on the decision of the Court to hold a full hearing on the Moore Street families’ action against the government’s plans for Moore St said:
“It is scandalous that in this centenary year of the Rising that the families of the Leaders have been forced to take the government to court to protect the National Monument.
“Moore Street has been described as the most important historic site in modern Irish history. Nowhere else in the world would a government treat such an iconic site so disgracefully.
“In government Sinn Féin would protect and restore the entire Moore Street terrace.”
