Speaking in Dublin's North Inner City, Mary Lou McDonald has reaffirmed Sinn Féin support for the national campaign to save Moore Street. She says, "It is an absolute disgrace that the concerned relatives of the 1916 leaders have been forced to take this Government to the High Court this week, and again next Tuesday in order to protect and save the Moore Street terrace from demolition in this centenary year of the 1916 Rising."
"As the Sinn Féin public representative for Dublin Central, which includes the historic Moore Street, I wish to reaffirm our party's commitment to protect and restore the entire Moore Street terrace, numbers 10-25, as the site of the last act of the 1916 Easter Rising, if elected to Government in the coming weeks."
"Sinn Féin continue to stand with the concerned relatives who are in the leadership of this important national campaign. Dublin Mayor Críona Ní Dhálaigh and I will be in court with the relatives next week to demonstrate that commitment and solidarity."
