12 February, 2016 - by Jennifer McCann

Sinn Féin MLA and Junior Minister Jennifer McCann has announced a £1.1 million fund to help groups working with ethnic minorities.

Ms McCann said;

"The Minority Ethnic Development Fund will provide £1.1 million to help those groups and organisations working with, and on behalf of, ethnic minorities.

"Many groups across the North do sterling work to support ethnic minorities and to make our society more inclusive and fairer.

"This excellent work in tackling racism, inequality and discrimination will be supported and enhanced by this funding package.

"It is open to groups who help people from ethnic minority backgrounds access public services, promote inclusion and challenge racism and inequality.

"Groups who may be eligible for funding can find more information and application forms at https://www.ofmdfmni.gov.uk/articles/racial-equality#toc-2 or email [email protected]"
