Hope over fear, a fairer Ireland is possible – Adams
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has this morning said that Sinn Féin offer hope over fear, and that a fairer Ireland is possible. He said ‘now is the time to seize the opportunity for an alternative progressive Government led by Sinn Féin’.
Speaking from Kilkenny, the Sinn Féin Leader said:
“We have three parties who have been in Government since the foundation of the State and three party leaders who between them have notched up 88 years in Leinster House.
“They haven’t delivered proper public services or a fair, equitable, and sustainable economy up to now, and they’re not going to. They’ve had their chance.
“There is a new generation that is sick of the old politics of conservatism and have a desire and a hunger to see something new. For the first ever, that’s now possible and it is incumbent on all of us who share that desire to seize the opportunity for change in this, the centenary year of the 1916 Rising.
“The choice is simple; a new Government backed by costed, comprehensive, and deliverable policies and the Right2Change principles that will deliver a fair recovery than benefits all of our citizens, or a Fine Gael/Fianna Fáil carve-up, backed by the politics of fear and boom and bust being pushed by Fine Gael, taking their lead from Fianna Fáil in 2007.
“Fine Gael is seeking to engender fear in the electorate. Sinn Féin’s message is about hope over fear and a fairer Ireland.”
