Doherty challenges Michael Noonan to publish Department of Finance costings on USC abolition

18 February, 2016 - by Pearse Doherty TD

Sinn Féin Finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty has challenged Michael Noonan to publish his costings from the Department of Finance on a phased out abolition of the USC.

Deputy Doherty says the Finance Minister has been trying to con the electorate in this campaign and he has been caught out badly not once, not twice, but three times.

Deputy Doherty said;

“Michael Noonan can bluster all he wants, but the reality is that he is wrong on his figures and he knows it.

“If he is confident in his figures, he should publish his costings from the Department of Finance on a phased out abolition of the USC.

“He has been trying to con the electorate in this campaign and he has been caught out badly not once, not twice, but three times.

“It is no wonder Fine Gael’s election campaign has nose-dived.  Michael Noonan is the reason for this.  He has been a disaster in this campaign right from the very beginning.”
