Adams congratulates Ó Clochartaigh and Conway-Walsh on Seanad successes

26 April, 2016 - by Gerry Adams

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD has congratulated Sinn Féin Senators Trevor Ó Clochartaigh and Rose Conway-Walsh on being the first two Senators elected to the Agricultural panel of the 25th Seanad. They join new Sinn Féin Senator Fintan Warfield who was elected on the Cultural and Educational panel yesterday.

Teachta Adams:

"I want to warmly congratulate Rose on her election to the 25th Seanad and Trevor on his re-election to Seanad Éireann this morning. Both have been successfully elected to the Agricultural panel, and coming from Mayo and Galway respectively, I know they will both serve as strong advocates for the West, for rural Ireland, for farming and for our fishermen in Leinster House over the coming Seanad term.

"Trevor has diligently served a full term in the Seanad and will bring that experience to an enhanced Sinn Féin team, particularly on justice issues and An Ghaeilge. Rose has served as a Mayo county councillor since 2009 and will bring a wealth of experience and skill, particularly in her work in rural development, to the role of Seanadóir.

"I very much look forward to working with both as part of an enhanced Sinn Féin team of TDs and Senators in Leinster House over the coming period". ENDS
