McMullan condemns church break-in

26 April, 2016 - by Oliver McMullan

Sinn Féin candidate for East Antrim Oliver McMullan has condemned the break-in and theft at St Mary’s Church in Cushendall last night.

Speaking after the break-in was announced by the parish priest at morning mass today, Mr McMullan said;

"The break-in and theft of a sum of money from St Mary’s Church, Cushendall last night is disgraceful act and I condemn it totally.

"The perpetrators have shown a complete lack of decency by stealing money from the church which would have come from the donations of parishioners. Effectively they have stole from the whole community.

"I would appeal to those who carried out this burglary, if they have any decency, to return the stolen sum of money to St Mary’s Church.

"Anyone with information on this incident should bring it forward to the PSNI."
