Senator Ó Donnghaile challenges BBC over lack of debate on Irish language issues
Sinn Féin senator Niall Ó Donnghaile has challenged the BBC over its refusal to discuss Irish language issues during tonight's televised leaders debate.
Senator Ó Donnghaile said;
"For the second week in a row the BBC have attempted to shut down any debate on Irish language issues, cutting off audience members who raise important questions.
"It appears that the BBC does not think the rights of Irish language speakers are important.
"The Irish language community will not be treated like second class citizens and I will be raising my concerns with the BBC on this issue."
