North Inner City standing together against violence - McDonald
Sinn Féin TD for Dublin Central, Mary Lou McDonald has urged everyone to come out on Tuesday evening and take part in a procession of community solidarity against the recent violence that has had a huge effect on the community.
Speaking today, Deputy McDonald said:
“The recent spate of murders have had a serious effect on the community. Many residents, families and their children are now living in fear.
“The community is determined to show solidarity against this violence. On Tuesday there will be a peaceful procession by the community and we are asking that everyone comes out in support.
“The procession will leave from the four local parishes at gather together at the Monument in Buckingham Street, which remembers those who were lost to heroin in the area. The Monument came about through a collaborative process with the community and stands as a signal that enough was enough.
“Once again the people of North Inner City Dublin have had enough. This procession has been organised by the whole community within the four parishes to show once again that residents are united and standing strong against crime in a peaceful and respectful way.”
