McMullan meets Woodburn protestors and reiterates Sinn Féin's opposition to fracking

23 May, 2016 - by Oliver McMullan

Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan met today with protestors at the site of controversial drilling at Woodburn Forest near Carrickfergus.

The East Antrim MLA said;

"I was at Woodburn Forest today to meet with protestors campaigning against ongoing drilling at the site.

"There is serious concern in the local area over the potential impact this drilling could have on the environment.

"There is concern also that this drilling could be a precursor to an application to carry out fracking at the site.

"I reassured the protestors of Sinn Féin's opposition to fracking anywhere on the island of Ireland.

"I also told the protestors that I had once again contacted Infrastrata calling on them to meet local residents and campaigners to discuss their concerns."
