Anderson to meet farming groups to discuss EU referendum
Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson will meet with representatives of the farming and agriculture industry next month to discuss the importance of EU membership to the sector.
Ms Anderson said;
"There has been much discussion across society about the impact of the EU referendum, particularly among the farming and agriculture community.
"As part of Sinn Féin's campaign for a vote to remain in the EU, I will meet with representatives of the industry next month in a debate in CAFRE, Greenmount Agricultural College, organised by Agricultural Producers Association and Farmers for Action.
"There is no doubt there is a democratic deficit at the heart of the EU and it is in need of reform but Sinn Féin believes that can only be achieved from within.
"Our farming and agricultural industry has benefited hugely from Europe and it simply does not make sense to place that in jeopardy so Sinn Féin will be campaigning vigorously to remain in the EU."
