Doherty to spell out opposition to Brexit at Paris peace event

Sinn Féin MP Pat Doherty will spell out the party’s opposition to austerity and Brexit from Europe at a peace conference in Paris tomorrow.

The West Tyrone MP will deliver a presentation on the current situation in Ireland at the 'World Conference for Peace and Progress' event organised by the French Communist Party (PCF).

Marisa Matias, MEP, GUE/NGL Vice President, Bloco Portugal, Sia Anagnowstopoulour, Greek Minister of Education and Stefan Bekier, Poland will be in attendance. 

Speaking before the event Pat Doherty Doherty said:

"Sinn Féin is committed to a democratic, just and equal Ireland in a democratic, just and equal Europe.

“This conference offers us the opportunity to promote our view of national independence and reconciliation on the island of Ireland and to work together with other progressive forces across Europe.
