Adams welcomes Funding news for Woodland Park
Sinn Féin Louth TD Gerry Adams has welcomed the news that Louth County Council has received funding from the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government for the refurbishment of four permanent bays and ten transient bays at Woodland Park.
Teachta Adams said:
“The allocation of funding for Woodland Park by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government is a welcome development. The provision of four permanent bays and ten transient bays will go some way toward providing much needed accommodation for Traveller families in Louth.
I want to welcome the speed with which Louth County Council have moved to complete the tendering process and have agreed a finish date of October.
The provision of these bays will not resolve the accommodation difficulties some of the families still have. There is also a need for a temporary emergency site for those families living on the roadsides. I would urge the Council to address this matter as a matter of urgency.”
